Full Stack Data Scientist

Role summary

Data Scientists at BeZero is a hybrid data scientists and software engineers role. Taking tasks all the way from initial analysis to building data pipelines to final visualization of the data. Data Scientists take full ownership of the whole stack they are working on.

We are looking for a creative thinker able to derive insights from data and thoughtfully display this to the end user. We will empower you with the tools you need and it's your job to put them to work.

Responsibilities

• Prototype visualizations in D3 and React.
• Work with our team of Carbon Scientists to analyze data.
• Collaborate with back-end engineers to understand the raw data being collected.
• Collaborate with designers to create data visualizations for both external and internal customers.
• Assisting in technical documentation and testing.

Requirements

• Relevant degree in mathematics, statistics, or computer science.
• Advanced coding skills (Javascript / Typescript).
• Expert proficiency to produce interactive visualizations for the web (D3).
• Comfortable working in the web browser (HTML5, CSS, SASS, LESS).
• Work with document and relational databases (Postgres).
• Use of version control systems and agile methodologies (Git, Github).
• An understanding of TDD, browser testing (Jest, Puppeteer)
• Setting up and integrating with CI/CD pipelines (Github Actions)
• Deploying and maintaining cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Terraform)
• Comfortable working with rapidly iterating requirements and daily deployments.
