ABOUT THE ROLE

As Pledge’s first DevOps hire you'll play a defining role in building and setting up our infrastructure, development tools and automation. You'll work in close collaboration with engineers, data scientists, product managers and other stakeholders.

Pledge works with B2B customers across a range of sectors including logistics, travel, e-commerce and fintech amongst others.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Implementing various development, testing and IT infrastructure
  • Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
  • Testing and examining code written by others and analysing results
  • Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
  • Problem identification, incidence management and root cause analysis
  • Working with engineers and data scientists to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
  • Planning out projects and being involved in project management decisions
  • Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 5 years of proven experience as a DevOps with responsibility for infrastructure development, monitoring and management, ideally for a B2B SaaS company
  • Knowledge and experience of industry best practices and tools
  • Deep experience with cloud service providers, ideally Amazon AWS, as well as Linux based infrastructure
  • Experience setting up and optimising continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
  • Experience with serverless architecture e.g. AWS Lambda
  • Some experience with the stack used at Pledge : ReactJS, Node.JS, GraphQL, PostGreSQL, ElasticSearch
  • Good knowledge of Ruby or Python and an ability to automate processes and tasks
  • Worked at a large tech company or high growth startup
