Job Description

Location: Flexible - commutable to Edinburgh

The OVO Group’s purpose is to drive progress towards net zero carbon living. To reach Plan Zero, we need everyone to come together - not just as customers buying energy, but as members with a common goal. As part of this ambitious plan, our goal is to become the ‘Leading Employer in the UK’ by 2030. If you think you could be the talent we’re looking for, then come and join the adventure!

Where in the world of OVO will I be working?

We’re in the heating business: we offer a range of services around insurance, servicing, and installation through a UK-wide network of trusted, local heating engineers.  Everybody has the right to a warm and comfortable home, and we stand for reliability, expertise, and quality — with 90% consumer awareness as a trusted brand.  We’ve a huge opportunity to decarbonise heating for our members in order to reach Plan Zero and we’re building on the current success of the business to become the leader for energy insurance and installation of carbon saving products with big ambitions to grow our 360,000 member base.

It’s an exciting time for OVO Home Services: we’re combining CORGI HomePlan and SSE Home Services, and investing significantly in our digital experiences and technology platform. We’re rebuilding the system which runs our business, and as we develop new features and capabilities from the ground up we need to put our customers, colleagues, and heating engineers at the centre of our product decisions.

What will I be doing?

This permanent role is key to helping us revamp our customer payments journeys and associated finance business processes and reporting.  You’ll join the team responsible for building out our new payments platform and work closely with OVO Home Services colleagues and those across the wider organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • As the Product Manager for our Finance team, you’ll be working on ensuring the smooth integration of our new payments provider whilst maintaining accurate billing and the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Your mission is to ensure OVO Home Services is compliant, financially credible and trusted by all customers and service providers enabled by accurate financial systems and processes.
  • You’ll love this role if you enjoy spending regular time as a cross-functional team with your end users to co-create the best agent experiences possible.
  • You will be continually pushing the boundaries of the heating insurance industry and technology to enable OVO Home Services to provide award-winning customer service.
  • The successful candidate will need to show a real passion for understanding a wide range of complex problems for members, heating engineers and regulatory bodies and working with their teams to deliver simple and innovative solutions.

Is this the job for me?

Ideally you will:

  • Be knowledgeable in customer-focused lean product development at different stages of the product life cycle (min 5 years’ experience)
  • Be a product manager working within autonomous, cross-functional product teams in environments that embrace and promote agile ways of working
  • Have knowledge of customer billing journeys and processes would be desirable
  • Enjoy working day to day with engineers and UX solving complex challenges
  • Be outcome focussed and data-driven individual
  • Be Passionate about working alongside retail brands to understand and solve the complex challenges they face
  • Be Comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders specifically with finance and operation teams.
  • Be Comfortable with the ambiguity that comes from working in a fast-paced environment and adaptable to changing business and market needs
  • Be Keen to use analytical and quantitative skills, able to cut through opinions with data
  • Be Excited by challenging the status quo and finding new and better ways to solve member problems

From us you’ll get*

  • An annual discretionary bonus
  • 4% of your salary to spend on flexible lifestyle benefits
  • 5% matched employer contribution to your pension
  • 25 days holiday + 1 for your birthday
  • And many more...

(*) Please note that certain benefits kick-in once you have passed probation which can be up to 6 months after your start date.
