About Raise Green

Established in 2018, Raise Green makes it easy to invest in solar and climate projects. More specifically, Raise Green structures and sells regulated securities accessible to anyone on the same terms, whether you invest $100, $100K, or $1M.

Raise Green provides tools and templates so anyone can create their own green job: think GitHub for companies or franchising urban farms like McDonald’s.

We closed our pre-seed round, have completed 360+ transactions totaling $1.5M in 6 different climate projects, and are licensed by the SEC and FINRA. Raise Green is also a stellar team of 5 climate and finance pioneers incubated at Greentown Labs (North America's largest climate tech incubator), The Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale, and Techstars Future of Finance in collaboration with ABN AMRO.

You will contribute to the execution of one of the most ambitious climatech projects in the United States right now: building the place for capital to be reinvested in communities across the country demanding equity and climate action.

You will join an amazing team of leaders (Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Marketplace, two clean energy project managers), a mission-aligned software dev shop, and 9 interns in a highly challenging and collaborative environment.

  • Facilitate cross-branch communication and document between team members.
  • Implement technical best practices and new ideas to build innovation as you help us build the team you feel is necessary as you grow the development process.
  • Help evaluate how to embed best-in-class InfoSec (DevOps/SecOps) processes within the service architecture and the internal workflows.
  • Work closely with the compliance team to crunch our legal requirements into features that take into account business constraints and regulatory frameworks.
  • Participate in client meetings as necessary to evaluate our solution against alternatives.
  • Be part of weekly meetings to discuss strategy with the CEO and other team leaders.
  • Keep abreast of the latest developments in fintech, govtech, and climatech to feed the company's strategic orientations.

Terms

  • Role: Founding Engineer (possibility to evolve to CTO)
  • Salary: up to $125K / year (plus post-investment raise + competitive YoY increase)
  • Equity: up to 4% depending on salary ($1-20M in 2-4 years, dilution included)
  • Location: 100% remote or Somerville HQ
  • Paid vacation: 2 weeks off / year + (reasonably) unlimited unpaid vacation

Preferred Experience

  • 7+ years of experience as a software engineer, architect, or comparable experience.
  • You are an expert capable of challenging the reasoning of other engineers.
  • You should be very good in two of them and willing to learn one more: TypeScript, Django, Graphql, Python, Go.
  • Writing Unit Tests, Integration Tests, End-to-end tests, performance tests.
  • Maintaining Postgres databases, schema, and taxonomies
  • Experience operating infrastructure on AWS, Google Cloud
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines
