We are leading the energy storage race to productizing the next level of battery performance.We are a new IPO company located in San Jose, California, working on new solid-state energy storage technology to allow electric vehicles to compete and eventually outperform internal combustion engines. Our leap in energy density and fast charge rate is enabled by our proprietary chemistry and cell architecture, which also benefits safety. Our industry advantage is due in part to our state-of-the-art laboratory facility, accelerated growth, development of highly automated machinery, and market leader demeanor. Do you want to learn more about and work on this critical development phase of future energy storage devices?Under the direction of an experienced Principal Engineer, you will help develop battery cell prototypes, test platforms, and create production processes to help bring this technology to market.
What you will do:Develop new battery cell packaging according to internal and customer requirementTake ownership, have responsibility, and be given the latitude to overcome some of the toughest engineering challenges in battery development. Conduct thermal/mechanical analysis for battery cells and modulesConduct design and product validation testingDevelop and maintain product drawings and related documentationWork with vendors to source parts and develop new processesDevelop and design internal development processes and assembly fixtures with teams
Minimum requirements:Education & Experience
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering3 - 5 years proven experiences developing reliable mechanical devices for production
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
You have solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and excel in creativity.You are proficient with a CAD system like CREO, SolidWorks, or Inventor.You understand the properties and trade-offs of engineering materials, processes, cost, and application. You can preform tolerance analysis and are familiar with failure modes and effects analysis. You are skilled in quality management processes and statistical techniquesYou have excellent data analysis and presentation skillsYou love working as a team in an energizing, learning, and collaborative environment.  We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
