Beyond Meat achieves a competitive advantage and initiatives through Operational Excellence.  Beyond Meat is currently developing a Management Operating System (MOS) to foster continuous improvement.  As our first Operational Excellence Manager, you will help to implement the MOS and establish the direction and approach. This position has considerable sponsorship and support to ensure success within this role and this will establish standards used across the globe.  You will be at the forefront of continuous improvement efforts and ultimately responsible for ensuring value streams flow at the rate of customer demand and are visual so that every employee in the organization can see the flow and have the capability to proactively add valuable contributions.  You will also set plans for execution of Kaizen events and improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Own and improve the standards that will be implemented throughout the value streams or areas/teams within Internal Manufacturing.  
  • Drive, manage, and develop the MOS to gain tangible business results and improvements in areas such as Safety, Quality, Productivity, Delivery, and Cost.  
  • Establish and develop Lean leadership as a strong discipline to ensure the continuous improvement culture is well respected and sustained; provide coaching and guidance in Lean standard work and gemba.  
  • Plan and conduct training to include planning, facilitating, and following up on Kaizen events and in systemic root cause and complex problem solving as needed to ensure awareness and practical application in continuous improvement become a natural part of everyday life on the production floor.  
  • Establish key performance indicators and follow-up on the portfolio of projects, Kaizen, and improvement initiatives to ensure results are measured and achieved.  
  • Build relationships and consensus building with business leaders in order to support identification, review, prioritization, and execution of key improvements opportunities/projects to drive results.  Partner with finance on monthly business reporting.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical discipline or 7 years of relevant experience in operations/manufacturing with 5+ years of progressive managerial experience.
  • 5-7 years’ experience with proven Lean, continuous improvement principles, implementation and leadership ability in a continuous flow manufacturing or industrial environment, and experience working with automated equipment required.
  • Lean 6 Sigma Green or Black Belt trained or certified with relevant experience.
  • Grow and develop the team by sharing knowledge and experience.

  • Demonstrated or proven organizational/analytical skills, basic computer knowledge, acute attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, and accuracy/data integrity
