About the Role:  

As our department continues to grow, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Graphic Designer to join the Planet family and work closely with our San Francisco-based Creative team. We're looking for someone who can think conceptually to extend and strengthen the Planet brand, but also someone who thrives on the rapid pace that comes with being part of a company going through rapid growth.
 

You don’t need to be a rocket scientist, but it helps if you have a passion for all things space… as the stories we tell center around our fleet of satellites and the ability to image the entirety of the landmass of the Earth each and every day.

Critical to your success at Planet will be your strength of design, your ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while staying on-schedule, managing a remote workforce, and making a cultural fit with the rest of the marketing team. All of that space stuff will fall into place.

Broadly speaking, your #1 job will be to support the Creative Director and provide creative guidance and assistance to the Marketing & Sales Team. The Creative team works with stakeholders from a variety of departments to maintain the creative vision for their projects, making sure they are delivered on-time and on-brand, and that they represent our best creative effort given the time and resources available. 

This position will report directly to the Creative Director.

Impact You’ll Own:

You will have past experience in traditional corporate print collateral, web design, environmental design, and digital media. 

You will help direct and guide our other creatives as well as contribute to the creative process yourself.

You should have roughly 8 + years of experience working in the field of graphic design and corporate communications, providing creative concepts and producing for marketing, communications and demand generation. 

You will own the creative process for assigned work. You will help create, audit, and drive campaigns for our brand and products from the design-side.

You will work across disciplines to integrate marketing strategies and messaging for vertical markets, events, and new mediums of communication.

You will partner with project managers and product marketing managers to ensure that schedules are accurate and realistic and that deadlines are met.

You will know when and how to say, “No” when incoming requests do meet criteria for driving measurable business outcomes. 

You will collaborate with the Creative Director to concept ideas and co-direct external teams.

You will be a team leader who provides encouragement and constructive feedback while engaging in all aspects of the creative process. When working with outside agencies and/or contracted labor you will ensure integrity of the Planet brand. 

You will manage the stakeholder process, ensuring that everyone involved is heard, respected and provided with constructive feedback. 

You demonstrate proficiency in Google Drive products, Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint
