We are recently funded, and are now looking for Beamers who are passionate about research and engineering, solving business problems, and modeling innovation in everything they do.  We work with a variety of technologies, and are hiring across multiple teams, including Machine Learning, Data and Visualization Engineering, Computer Vision and Information Security. We are a remote first company based in the United States, with a strong research and development team growing in Yerevan, Armenia.

Position Mandate

CTO will lead a fast-growing globally distributed team and serve in the Executive Leadership Team. Aligning the technology vision and roadmap with our progressive and innovative business strategy, the CTO will be responsible for delivering a consolidated, scalable and secure platform that will drive revenue and value creation for our global business. In addition, the CTO will have full oversight over enterprise architecture, corporate systems and technology infrastructure including all on-prem and cloud operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, develop and lead the execution of our transformative technology initiative, including the build of technology capabilities for superior and highly scalable platform integration.
  • Manage and oversee the entire enterprise technology portfolio including corporate IT systems, vendor relationships, system support and infrastructure.
  • Establish effective decision-making and investment plans for major technology projects and initiatives. Prioritize and allocate the necessary human, technological and financial resources necessary to complete approved projects and to improve overall efficiencies in technology delivery and operations.
  • Foster strong partnerships with technology and senior business leaders regarding evolving technology trends, while promoting and educating the organization about the value of IT architecture, engineering and development best practices (including Agile/ Lean/DevOps methodologies).
  • Attract, develop and retain a high performing technology team, and foster an innovative agile product development environment that promotes an understanding of key business drivers and customer expectations.
  • Monitor and maintain close strategic relationships with existing and future technology vendors, ensuring partnerships are aligned with our strategic operational and financial objectives.
  • Provide enterprise-wide technology leadership across all business units and shared services. Work closely with CISO to implement appropriate policies and procedures to ensure system and regulatory compliance, IT security, and the effective utilization of technology resources by employees.
  • Develop the IT sourcing strategy (onshore, captive, offshore, managed captive etc.).
  • Leveraging deep industry expertise and intelligence, responsible for alerting the broader organization to rising competitive threats, risks and opportunities posed by changing technologies, regulations, customer behaviors or new entrants into the market.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The CTO will be a driven, results oriented and highly collaborative technology and business partner with a proven track record of success in delivering enterprise-wide impact. Possessing prior digital transformation experience for a large, complex global business, the ideal candidate will have successfully demonstrated their ability to transform and modernize legacy technology infrastructure, teams and capabilities.

Adept in managing large globally dispersed teams, the CTO will be an inclusive, inspirational and proactive people manager who intuitively understands how to attract, engage and retain strong technology talent. Possessing superior emotional intelligence, the CTO must demonstrate exceptional influencing, relationship management and presentation skills with an ability to establish trust and credibility at all levels across the organization. The CTO will ideally have navigated multiple complex technology environments and platforms and have an exceptional understanding and appreciation of the customer experience.

The successful candidate should also have a thorough understanding of how to develop and deliver digital products and services in a cloud environment. The CTO must have experience implementing and consolidating new digital technologies, and be comfortable introducing the notion of innovation and continuous iteration, with a willingness to explore new technology partnership opportunities.

Skill Set Requirements

  • The successful candidate will hold a Bachelors and/or a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or associated field and must possess a minimum of 15 years senior leadership experience in a large complex global enterprise business.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate highly nuanced and often ambiguous situations.
  • Strong technology integration experience with experience navigating, scaling and modernizing systems, processes and technologies. Must be well versed in digital and micro-service architecture, multi-stack system environments, data warehousing and cloud computing.
  • A strategic technology visionary who is extremely efficient in tactical execution and delivery and has a proven track record of success in driving results.
  • An effective and influential agent of change with previous experience successfully leading an organization and its teams through significant transformation and modernization.
  • Well versed in Agile, DevOps and Lean Methodologies with an appreciation for the learning curves employees face when required to adapt to change.
  • Strong awareness and comprehension of the competitive landscape with an appreciation for all potential risks, threats and opportunities that may impact our client’s business.
  • Proven experience in managing multi-million-dollar technology budgets, including determining the appropriate investment strategies and priorities for technology spend.
  • Global experience is strongly preferred with an astute appreciation and acceptance of different cultural perspectives, regulations, customer behaviors and business practices.
