Job Description

The Role

We are seeking a reliable Manufacturing Logistics Manager to be responsible for logistics and inventory management. This includes organizing and monitoring storage and distribution of goods. This vital team member will direct and coordinate program activities designed to provide contractors, management, and customers with logistics that ensure effective and economical support concerned for manufacturing or servicing of products, and equipment by the following responsibilities. The goal is to manage the entire inventory movement cycle so as to enhance business development and ensure sustainability and customer satisfaction. 

Responsibilities:

  • Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services.
  • Schedule and track inbound and outgoing shipments.
  • Ensure vehicles are delivered to sites in a timely manner as per customers criteria.
  • Assess and recommend ideal shipping methods, routing or carriers to meet necessary parameters, specifications and costs.
  • Negotiate transportation rates and services with carriers.
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
  • Monitor product import/export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory/legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management and finance.
  • Communicate transportation information to customers, partners and suppliers.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory at multiple contract manufacturers
  • Manage customer owned inventory
  • Supervise, coach, recruit and train warehouse workforce.
  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints

Required Experience:

  • BS in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain
  • Minimum of 7+ years proven working experience as a Manufacturing Logistics Manager
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Demonstrable ability to effectively lead and manage staff
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
  • Excellent verbal, written and listening skills; keeps others adequately informed
  • Must be able to adapt to change in the work environment and manage competing demands efficiently 
  • Proven proficiency using technology to increase productivity and standard logistics software
  • Strong ability to act decisively to resolve problems
  • Strong interpersonal skills to motivate and instruct employees
