About this job

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of the Accounting function at Memphis Meats.  As the second full-time Finance hire, the Accounting Manager will work closely with the Controller to build-out the internal Accounting function and to implement best-in-class systems and processes.  The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating in a dynamic environment that changes quickly, and with building processes from scratch.  

Duties include

• Manage the monthly close & account reconciliation process
• Manage accounts payable & expense reports
• Key participant in design and implementation of an ERP
• Key participant in design and implementation of a procure-to-pay system
• Key participant for the annual audit
• Manage sales & use tax and property tax
• Key participant in budgeting  process
• Perform budget vs actual analysis and meet monthly with Dept heads
• Misc ad-hoc projects as assigned

About you

• 5+ years of Corporate accounting inclusive of strong experience in the monthly close
• Experience managing accounts payable, expense reports, and sales & use tax
• Experience working collaboratively within Finance and with cross functional partners to tackle problems and implement solutions.
• Hyper-focused on internal control, & able to identify control gaps and suggest appropriate solutions
• Nimble and able to shift priorities quickly to support Company needs
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• Cost accounting and inventory experience strongly preferred
• Big 4 experience and active CPA license preferred
• Startup experience preferred
• Manufacturing experience preferred
