The company is backed by a diverse set of committed investors and we have raised over $100M to date.As the Midwest Policy Manager you will lead Form Energy’s regional market development, policy initiatives and coalition partnerships in U.S. Midwestern states in coordination with Form Energy’s business development and product teams. In this role you will steer Form Energy’s work on a diverse set of issues related to technology commercialization, market design, and energy resource planning to support Form Energy’s commercial success in Midwestern states. You will also be responsible for building and managing a regional team that includes external partners. This role will report to Form Energy’s policy manager and executive team.

What You'll Do

  • Shape regional legislation, regulations, and electricity markets to ensure Form Energy’s long term commercial success in Midwestern states
  • Lead Form Energy’s participation in regional wholesale electricity markets, regulatory proceedings, regional advocacy organizations and industry organizations
  • Prepare policy filings and represent Form Energy in regional legislative and regulatory processes
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with regional policy makers, nongovernmental organizations and other regional leaders
  • Build coalitions with regional advocacy organizations and key industry groups
  • Provide recommendations to senior management about market trends, activities, and regulatory policies in regional markets about potential opportunities and activities relevant to multi-day energy storage
  • Manage regional team resources, including both internal team members and external consultants
  • Collaborate with other Form Energy teams on regional market prioritization, market monitoring, thought leadership, and business strategy
  • Support public relations and communications efforts

What You'll Bring

  • 8+ years experience in electric sector policy development or advocacy
  • BA/BS degree required; master’s or other advanced degree preferred
  • Expertise on policy issues related to grid decarbonization planning, reliability and resource adequacy, or wholesale market design
  • Experience with electric sector policy stakeholder processes
  • Significant experience in preparing and delivering policy filings to public utility commissions, state legislatures and/or wholesale market operators
  • Demonstrated track record advocating for policy changes related to utility scale renewable energy or energy storage
  • Experience navigating ambiguity and thriving in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment
  • Resourceful team player with a track record of collaborating with multiple cross-functional teams
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Experience working on political and legislative campaigns is a plus
