Pachama brings the latest technology in remote sensing and AI to the world of forest carbon in order to enable forest conservation and restoration to scale. Pachama’s core technology harnesses satellite imaging with artificial intelligence to measure carbon captured in forests. Through the Pachama marketplace, responsible companies and individuals can connect with carbon credits from projects that are protecting and restoring forests worldwide.
We are backed by mission-aligned investors including Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Amazon Climate Fund, Chris Sacca, Saltwater Ventures, and Paul Graham.
The RolePachama is looking for a Project Associate to collaborate with field partners on the ground in Brazil and ensure timely delivery of project commitments for originated projects.
The person in this role will build relationships with field partners and involved parties to create a feedback loop between Pachama and on-the-ground operations. This role will be the face of Pachama in the field and a key team member contributing to the product development needs of originated supply.
Pachama's future Project Associate will co-develop standard field practices with the Project Origination team, informing future projects' success.
A get-it-done attitude, willingness to learn and adapt, and translate needs is critical for this role.   
LocationJob is remote, but we prefer a candidate willing to be based in Brazil (São Paulo area) full-time with some opportunity for travel to other countries in Latin America.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and grow relationships with project stakeholders
  • Prepare reports and communicate progress to HQ team
  • Identify best practices for external relations
  • Track unexpected challenges and find solutions
  • Support product development of new service offerings
  • Ability to travel in and around Brazil

Our ideal candidate will have many of the following:

  • Experience & knowledge with either forestry or carbon projects
  • Fluent in Portuguese & English
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity or professional experience with advanced technologies
  • Excellent organization and ability to manage many types of information
  • Demonstrated ability to work with external partners
  • Experience working with or for American tech companies
  • A university degree in Biology, Forest Sciences or relevant field
  • Willingness to roll one’s sleeves up and fix problems
  • Passion for our mission to restore nature and solve climate change
