Laboratory Technician

Position DescriptionThe Laboratory Technician will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of scientists to help build and deliver solutions to customers in difficult to decarbonize industries. You will be responsible for supporting the development of technical solutions to support Via’s membrane product development, and will work across teams to deliver technical execution in the areas of chemical synthesis, membrane fabrication and characterization. This role has enormous growth potential as Via continues to grow rapidly, scale systems, and expand our scope. 

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare samples for experimental studies, across teams

• Execute sample analysis using standard equipment and high pressure filtration test units

• Run chemical reactions following standard recipes up to 100 L in scale

• Perform lab duties such as equipment maintenance and cleaning, across all testing assets

• Implement ongoing safety program and help drive a clean & safe work environment. 

Experience & Qualifications 

Associates’ Degree or higher showcasing lab-based coursework in chemistry, biology, biotechnology, chemical engineering, bioengineering, or a similar field.

Hands-on lab skills and safe-lab practices are a must; Demonstrated aptitude in executing chemical or materials syntheses.

Eager to learn with a willingness to be challenged.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
