Job Description

We are looking for a Principal Systems Engineer who will help us execute complex development programs using the company’s ARENA platform and enable the most capable weather platform in the world.
As a Principal Systems Engineer within the Space division at Tomorrow.io, you will play a critical role in the execution of the ARENA platform integration as part of a cutting edge, multi-disciplinary team working from hardware to science solutions across multiple remote sensing disciplines.
What you'll do:
  • Work closely with customers to develop custom solutions utilizing the ARENA platform
  • Develop solutions for various radar and sonar sensors
  • Work with engineering leadership to identify and resolve technical system issues
  • Maintain and routinely report performance on schedule, resources, cost, risks, and technical performance metrics.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and internal resources
What you'll need:
  • Experience in sonar, radar, and/or lidar system design;
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate multiple subsystem components to form a system solution.
  • Proven ability to work difficult technical problems from inception to completion
  • Hands-on experience working with real-world sensor hardware;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • MS or Ph.D. in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics or a similar discipline
  • 10+ years work experience minimum, with additional experience desired.
  • Position and compensation will be commensurate with combined degree and experience.
  • Experience developing and working from test plans and procedures;
  • Experience developing and maintaining sensor system specifications;
  • Experience deriving and sub-allocated subsystem specifications;
  • Demonstrated background integrating and field deploying real-world sensor hardware;
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident
    Desired:
  • Hands-on experience integrating and manipulating elements in CAD software such as SolidWorks;
  • Proficiency with python, MATLAB, or other high-level coding language;
  • Ability to plan tasks to meet constraints of cost and schedule.
The position will be staffed at our Bourne, MA or Denver, CO.
