THE ROLE:

You will be joining the team at an important point of our journey where we we are reinventing and improving our financial reporting every month and striving to provide numbers faster and more accurate [Yes that's a real thing !].

Working closely with the Head of Finance you will likely be allocated markets which will become your responsibility to own all aspects of reporting.

Tasks Include:

In the short-term, performing & shaping our process for outsourcing includes:

  • Continued reporting improvements, defining and shaping our financial reporting road map to ensure we continue to improve the accuracy and quality of reporting.
  • Quality reporting over our Asset movements utilising system data
  • Financial reporting, managing the General Ledger ensuring the accuracy of the numbers for both internal and external reporting including local market compliance
  • GL Integrity, ensure monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and timely resolution of variances
  • Management of AR and AP, day to day management of AR and AP including reporting and collections with BPO expansion in the next 3 months
  • Working with the wider finance team, work with other team leads in ensuring an efficient finance team including documenting process improvement
  • Internal reporting requirements, managing relationships with internal stakeholders including the delivery of timely and accurate internal reports
  • Monthly Management Accounts, assist with the timely and accurate reporting to the Head of Finance of consolidated monthly results with commentary / analyses of balance sheet movements and income statement variances against budget / forecast

Requirements

With 2-3 years’ accounting experience, you’ll have a good knowledge of accounting concepts. Your exceptional organisational skills are a given, as is your ability to work autonomously and as part of a small team. Additionally you’ll have:

  • University degree in accounting or finance, ideally CA or CPA qualified (or part-qualified)
  • Solid understanding of accounting concepts and general ledger maintenance
  • Solid understanding of business processes and how processes could scale.

Our team is a high performing and results driven and our ideal candidate would be ex Big 4 or have prior start up experience.

Skills:

  • Excellent problem solving skills & time management skills with the ability to effectively manage deadlines and conflicting priorities
  • Xero knowledge / exposure would be a bonus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel
  • Ability to effectively communicate in a clear and timely manner
  • Ability to effectively operate as part of a wider team towards a common goal of improving the function
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions where required
