Regional Recycling Materials Sourcing Manager (Southeast)

AMP Robotics is hiring a Regional Recycling Materials Sourcing Manager (Southeast) reporting to the Managing Director, Infrastructure Development and Origination to focus on sourcing recycling commodities for AMP’s secondary sort facilities in the Midwest.

As our Regional Recycling Materials Sourcing Manager, you will work to:

  • Research, identify, and qualify sources (MRFs, reclaimers, brokers, others) for recycling materials (plastics, fiber, residue), including tonnage and key decision makers/contacts to build comprehensive assessment and market analysis for regional market/geo and document in on-line databases.
  • Develop and build long term, mutually beneficial and strong relationships with MRFs, reclaimers, brokers, strategic partners, etc for procuring recycling commodities (plastics, fiber, residue).  
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategy (spot, supply agreements, broker) to meet material origination/sourcing plans and requirements by facility, by source, by month and by material type/mix.  Build and manage material/commodity sourcing pipeline in SFDC that aligns with targets.
  • Negotiate and close supply agreements with MRFs, reclaimers, brokers and strategic partners for recycling materials/commodities that meets facility requirements and targets.
  • Utilize spot market sourcing/buying as necessary to augment supply agreements and ensure sourcing requirements and targets (by facility, by month, by material type/mix) are achieved.
  • Stay up to date and knowledgeable on recycling materials/commodities market pricing and supply/demand.  
  • Coordinate closely with operations and materials coordinator regarding logistics and material type/quality of procured and inbound material.
  • Work closely, leverage and coordinate as appropriate with core technology field sales team regarding relationships with material sources and key decision makers (MRFs, reclaimers, etc).  Ensure coordinated sales and relationship management that optimizes both businesses and opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Autonomous, high-motor approach to execution and achievement.  Self motivated and outspoken about what is needed to get a job done.
  • Track record of success in managing multiple priorities in ambiguous environment.
  • Excellent Communicator – Strategic listener, conscious communicator, and persuasive of people from a wide range of roles and backgrounds.  Comfortable communicating with all types of stakeholders, verbal and written.
  • Outstanding agility and ability to deal with ambiguity and change.
  • Competency with SFDC to build and manage pipeline.
  • Partners and works effectively with others in highly collaborative environment.
  • Strong at execution:  results-oriented, organized self-starter.

Education and experience required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years experience with a track record of success sourcing/buying recycling materials/commodities including plastics, fiber, residue
  • Extensive experience and deep relationships with key decision makers at MRFs, reclaimers, brokers and other sources of recycling materials/commodities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long term customer relationships.
  • Strong and up to date knowledge of current recycling materials/commodity markets, including pricing, supply/demand, trends, etc.

Working Location(s): 

  • Remote (within region)

Travel Requirements: 

  • 25-30% within the region, periodic trips to HQ in Colorado

Benefits information:

  • Medical - The company covers up 85% to 100% of the premium for Cigna healthcare plans depending on the selection. Employees pay the difference in premium if they select a more expensive plan. Up to 75% for dependents. 
  • 401(k) retirement plan (non-matching).
  • Seven (7) paid holidays – 7 company designated and 2 floating holidays. (salaried employees only)
  • Referral bonuses for staff positions.
  • Paid Vacation Leave – Accrues at a rate of ~4.67 hours (0.58 days) per pay period (2 weeks) starting day 1. Unused PTO carries over each year with a 1-year limit.
  • Paid Sick Leave – 64 hours per year, given in full on start date, refreshes on anniversary.
