Job Description

About the Role

At Spin, the Marketplace Efficiency team plays a key role in developing processes, models, and tools that help us match supply and demand for our micro-mobility vehicles. The Senior Analyst will focus on enabling strategic deployment techniques, but will also apply levers such as vehicle routing, rebalancing optimization, battery swapping, capacity planning, and vehicle positioning to best support our staff and riders.

Responsibilities

  • Educate, mentor and collaborate with market managers and operations leads to improve markets’ supply and demand matching
  • Implement software tools that enable Spin to optimize vehicle deployment
  • Champion product, data analysis and operational efforts that positively contribute to unit economics
  • Visit markets regularly (as COVID restrictions allow) to interview field staff and managers to provide hands-on assistance in use of optimization tools
  • Track introduction of new form factors and market opportunities, to ensure that efficiency tools are capable of handling emerging business challenges
  • Utilize spreadsheet formulas, macros, functions or other similar tools to build prototypes that can be quickly piloted with operations teams
  • Develop SOPs, lead trainings, and establish standard methodologies for deployment and scheduling initiatives for Operations

Qualifications

  • Technical or analytically focused degree (Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Management, Statistical Analysis, etc.) or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience; analysis / project management / business operations / startup operations
  • Knowledge of foundational business concepts, including experience working with fixed vs. variable costs, P&L statements
  • Excellent communicator (written and verbal) who can synthesize complex business concepts and present to large groups
  • Strong EQ and a willingness to collaborate with peers across departments
  • Experience leading large-impact, cross-functional projects
  • Ability to articulate a strategic goal and to develop the specific tactics to achieve that vision
  • Strong analytical and data processing skills; knowledge of SQL, scripting languages or data manipulation tools are a plus
