Where in the world of OVO will I be working?

You will be working within OVO retail as part of the OVO PAYGO business, created to ensure our 850,000 pay as you go customers receive the best possible service, whilst optimising the commercial position. Our PAYGO business and hence this role includes both Boost and SSE PAYGO brands.

What will I be doing?

You’ll be leading a number of projects to optimise Pay as you Go Energy revenue by ensuring that any instances of non or under payment have robust processes in place to mitigate losses.

You’ll work with process and data colleagues across our function to identify revenue issues and deploy treatments via our metering team, third party infrastructure providers and collections teams.

You’ll be agreeing resource requirements to put effective processes in place, agreeing service levels and targets and ensuring that all functions that need to deliver plans to mitigate revenue losses do so.

You’ll report to the PAYGO director and will have the freedom to identify the most material opportunities and to work across the PAYGO team and supporting functions to implement rapid change in an agile manner.

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Identify the most material process opportunities across PAYGO to optimise cash revenues. This will include instances where PAYGO sites are providing energy without payment, through failure in Smart metering systems and / or customer activity
  • Prioritise opportunities, build and execute a programme of improvement across PAYGO and where required supporting functions. We envisage opportunities worth £m’s per annum on an enduring basis
  • Measure the benefit of change, demonstrating ongoing value, likely to be in the £m’s per annum
  • Lead on the delivery of plans from metering, debt collections agencies and other third parties, agreeing targets and holding them accountable for delivery.
  • Where enduring processes are required, ensure these are embedded to BAU across required functions and third parties
  • Track performance and agree KPIs for reporting across senior stakeholders
  • Liaise with finance to ensure targets and plans are agreed and progress of projects is tracked

Is this the job for me?

  • Preferably, you’ll have some experience in leading energy revenue and debt projects
  • You’ll be able to manage a range of dependencies, such as teams in metering functions, external collections agents  including field teams
  • You’ll be able to grasp technical infrastructure details, working with industry partners such as Siemens and Itron
  • You’ll be a strong influencer, able to hold teams and functions not in your direct control accountable to agreed performance standards
  • You’ll be commercially astute, able to agree the trade-offs to manage competing priorities
  • You’ll be a strong self-starter able to build and run with plans in a fast paced environment
  • You can present effectively to a senior audience, with professional materials
  • You have or can build the technical knowledge to be seen as a specialist, but you can articulate complexity to a non specialist audience
