System Administrator

 

About This Role

The IT team is responsible for maintaining and improving the business’s digital workspace. We are seeking a System Administrator who will be responsible for managing and maintaining various IT systems in our digital workspace and provide support to our IT Help Desk Team. The ideal candidate will have strong autonomous troubleshooting skills as well as outstanding customer service, communication and documentation skills.

This position will be based at our Santa Barbara headquarters with remote flexibility (3-4 days offsite per week).

What You’ll Do 

  • Provide support to the IT Help Desk team on Tier 2-3 support issues
  • Maintain, configure, update, and support various SaaS and on-prem systems
  • Lead and support technical projects
  • Discover innovative ways to automate processes
  • Create and enforce change control processes
  • Create and enforce IT best practices
  • Create technical documentation
  • Work with 3rd party support teams

What You Bring

Minimum Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of experience in IT managing complex information systems
  • Familiar with macOS, Windows 10, Windows Server and Linux
  • Experience supporting various SaaS tools (e.g. Google Workspace, Okta, Box, Slack)
  • Experience administering MDM software (e.g. Workspace ONE, Jamf)
  • Basic understanding of networking (routing and switching) 
  • Basic Python skills and understanding of AWS EC2
  • Familiar with Active Directory/LDAP, VMware EXSi, Vshpere and Bash/Zsh
  • Familiar with industry best security practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual (Spanish; Elvish)
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Eagerness to learn and implement new technologies
  • Prior experience in mentoring
