The company is backed by a diverse set of committed investors and we have raised over $100M to date.Role Description As Senior Director of Cell Development you will lead a dynamic, interdisciplinary team that develops the core technology of Form Energy’s novel multi-day energy storage products. The Cell Development organization is responsible for materials, electrochemistry, and device integration, and subscale performance testing. The ideal candidate brings experience developing successful electrochemical products that are manufactured at scale, globally, with exceptional quality and reliability. You will foster a culture that rigorously solves complex and at times, open-ended problems, pushing boundaries, and learning our way forward. This role will report directly to Form Energy’s Chief Technology Officer and will manage and grow several existing component and subscale cell development teams.

What you'll do:

  • Set vision and direction for component and cell development activities (component development up to large-area unit cell) at Form in collaboration with other senior technical leaders
  • Grow and lead a high-performing, highly engaged team that does rigorous research and development work that sets the foundation for successful product development
  • Define and manage to goals and milestones for the cell development organization
  • Establish and manage resource plans to deliver on technology and product roadmaps, including budgets, headcount, and long-range testing plans
  • Embody and champion Form Energy’s values of Humanity, Excellence, and Creativity by managing with an emphasis on innovative problem solving, rapid cycles of learning, and high standards for quality of work products and throughput.

What you'll bring:

  • M.S. or higher in engineering or physical science
  • 12+ years of professional experience (8+ in a leadership role)
  • Experience commercializing one or more electrochemical product
  • Demonstrated track record of leading innovative cross-functional teams to deliver results against tight timelines and budgets, often requiring or involving significant intervention
  • Experience managing distributed teams (nationally, internationally)
