Staff Statistician

The company is backed by a diverse set of committed investors and we have raised over $100M to date.Role Description We are seeking a statistician with industry experience to guide our experimental designs and data analysis so that we can make the most of our experimental time and resources. In this role, the statistician will consult with scientists and engineers at all of our locations, from R&D to advanced manufacturing. In addition to guiding our work, the statistician will put together case studies and memos about the kinds of analysis and designs that we frequently repeat, so that we can build our group learning. Statistician will be expected to learn quickly about our physical systems and bring physical intuition to choose the right statistical tools and designs for our experiments. Statistician may also revise our internal training opportunities and host occasional teaching sessions.

What you'll do:

• Advise and train scientists on experimental designs
• Attend data reviews
• Support scientists on data analysis using JMP and Python
• Identify gaps in our data quality and present solutions
• Put together case studies of types of analysis that we often repeat
• Teach and train colleagues
• Learn new techniques or software tools as needed

What you'll bring:

• Masters degree or PhD in statistics or equivalent field
• 5+ years of experience applying statistics to experimental data in industry
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience working with batteries or fuel cells is a plus
