Where in the world of OVO will I be working? 

You will be working in Kaluza, the centrepiece of OVO’s ambition in becoming the world leader in distributed energy technology. It is an intelligent control layer running on top of the already existing energy infrastructure, giving both the market players - as well as the end consumers - a fast forward ticket to the distributed energy future.

Kaluza will be the nervous system of OVO’s IoT landscape sitting between grid operators and end customers, connecting energy suppliers, energy IoT and Virtual Power Plants.

What will I be doing?

You will join Kaluza’s Tech Support function and have a great opportunity to build your software engineering and infrastructure skills over time.

The role may require flexibility to work occasional late shifts and weekends as needed.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Handling escalated support queries from first line support teams
  • Identifying root causes of complex customer support issues relating to Kaluza’s control methods
  • Working with stakeholders to develop reports on product performance
  • Working with key partners across Kaluza on improvements to our customer support processes

Is this the job for me? 

  • You will already have basic IT skills including some experience in handling data
  • You will be technically competent and have a sound understanding of connected devices and a variety of software programs
  • You will be good at working in a team and under pressure
  • You’ll be expected to have great communication skills on the phone, email and web, including with customers
  • You’ll need to have a strong analytical ability, be flexible, self motivated and proactive in your approach to work
  • An ability to learn at pace is a must. You will get training and hands on support but you’ll need to learn on the job and be adaptable as we evolve our product offering.
  • A passion for Technology, the Internet of Things and all things EnTech will definitely give you a greater chance to join the team!

Ideally you will have:

  • SQL experience (ideally BigQuery) & Excel/Sheets skills
  • Experience in programming for analytics, preferably in Python
  • Confidence in building and communicating significant data visualisations and experienced in using a business intelligence platform
