Job Description

Tomorrow.io Space division is responsible for the development of unique spaceborne sensing systems and for the overall space mission, from architecture through implementation. The data being collected will be integrated seamlessly into Tomorrow.io existing forecasting and modelling systems and will revolutionize global weather forecasting and insights. We are looking for a Senior Hardware-Firmware Engineer who will help us execute complex development programs using the company’s ARENA platform and enable the most capable weather platform in the world. As a Senior Hardware-Firmware Engineer within the Space division at Tomorrow.io, you will play a critical role in the execution of the ARENA platform development as part of a cutting edge, multi-disciplinary team working from hardware to science solutions across multiple remote sensing disciplines.
What you'll do:
  • Develop firmware for ARENA platform
  • Develop hardware solutions for various radar and sonar sensors
  • Work with engineering leadership to identify and resolve technical issues
  • Maintain and routinely report performance on schedule, resources, cost, risks, and technical performance metrics.
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers
What you'll need:
  • BS or above degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar discipline
  • Experience implementing radar, sonar, lidar, or similar sensor algorithms in hardware/FPGAs
  • Expertise in Verilog or VHDL programming
  • Experience using Xilinx Vivado & PetaLinux.
  • Experience implementing standard high-speed interfaces (e.g. DDR4/3,JESD204B)
  • Embedded software and driver development on Linux
  • Proficiency with C / C++
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Altium
  • Experience in debug and testing of digital signal processor, data acquisition and signal generation boards
  • 5+ years of work experience
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident
Desired:
  • Demonstrated background working with both FPGA-based and embedded Linux processor hardware within radar and/or sonar systems
  • Experience with synthetic aperture and digital beamforming processing
  • Familiarity with JAVA and/or Qt programming languages.
The position will be staffed at our Denver, CO
