Position Overview 

This position will partner with the Director of Communications, Marketing, and PR to grow brand recognition of REBA and the REBA Institute through strategic communications tools that increase the influence of institutional research and program initiatives and shape the debate amongst key stakeholders on the evolution of the energy sector. This is your opportunity to drive transformational change through unique design and creative tactics, compelling narratives, and proactive media engagement. This is a one-year, grant funded position with a strong possibility for renewal. 

Core Responsibilities 

You will be a key member of the Communications Team and will oversee the coordination and implementation of multichannel communications strategies, including: 

  • Collaboration with program leadership to lead implementation of overarching communications plans to raise profile of both REBA and the REBA Institute. 
  • Identification, development, and execution of compelling communications content that amplifies REBA and REBA Institute’s core initiatives, including press releases, original thought-leadership, blog posts, paid promo campaigns, and overarching key messaging.  
  • Monitoring of industry news and curation of unique complementary institutional insights to guide proactive media engagement identifying key opportunities for leadership to weigh in and ensure the organization is up to spend on key topics. 
  • Development, execution, and monitoring of high-profile MarComm campaigns featuring priority institutional initiatives that showcase the collective power of the REBA community. 
  • Management of the editorial and design process for all institutional resources, including alignment with key timelines, strategic positioning, coordination with programs on supplementary materials, and alignment with branding and editorial guidelines. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) -- or equivalent professional experience -- in business, communications, English, energy or environmental science, marketing, public relations, or sustainability.  
  • 5-8 years of PR/communications experience, preferably at a mission-driven nonprofit, trade association, public relations agency, government office or clean energy company. 
  • Superb writing, editing, and proofreading skills (AP style) and a demonstrated ability to translate complex information into clean, concise and engaging copy for a variety of audiences. 
  • Ability to deliver high-quality products that complement high-profile advocacy campaigns. 
  • Experience with media monitoring tools (e.g. Muckrack, Sprout Social, Google Analytics) and email marketing platforms (e.g. Mailchimp) preferred. 

Compensation 

REBA strives for pay equity, based on experience, qualifications, and performance. REBA's manager salary band (which includes managers and senior managers) is $86,000 - $130,000 with a 10% bonus opportunity. For this role, we are targeting a starting salary of $86,000 - $92,000, but will also consider candidates with more advanced qualifications.
