About the Role

The Government Partnerships Manager will work closely with the Head of Government Partnerships, East for their region and our Business team in order to generate new relationships; proactively reaching out to new potential government partners and working to bring them on board.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within the global supply team and across Supplier Quality and Engineering to develop a commodity strategy and technology roadmap that aligns technology and business requirements with supplier capabilities.
  • Work closely with Engineering to define standard and custom product requirements.
  • Work closely with Engineering to influence technical design decisions to meet technical capabilities, and business objectives.
  • Lead the Approved Vendors List (AVL) for commodity, supplier selection and qualification.
  • Ensure a collaborative sourcing environment leading to continuous improvement in quality, cost, service and technology.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess current and future sourcing requirements.
  • Deliver periodic executive business review of commodity sourcing strategy, considering the industry landscape, supplier capabilities, scale and performance, product and technical roadmaps and strategic business objectives.
  • Lead overall supplier relationships including supplier performance, capability development, cost and quality improvements.
  • Maintain personal knowledge of market trends including rigorous analysis of market drivers, cost structures and technical improvements.
  • Work directly with key suppliers (manufacturers and distributors) to develop and implement sourcing and cost management strategies that support existing platforms and new product development.
  • Lead Clear to Build (CTB) to ensure on-time availability of all materials- including all sub-tier supplier
  • Develop and implement business continuity plans for critical components either through dual sourcing strategy or long term supply plan
  • Assess market conditions, identify industry standard methodologies and emerging trends to identify new cost reduction and value creation opportunities, as well as performing should cost analysis.
  • Negotiate and implement appropriate contracts with suppliers.
  • Establish and implement procurement policies with suppliers to ensure quality, delivery, and cost improvements including KPI’s and scorecards.
  • Mentor and lead local GSM team

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in materials management, procurement or supply chain management, in a high-volume consumer electronics industry.
  • Effective management of component sourcing within a manufacturing environment; CTB management, component pull-in/push out, and negotiating cost reductions.
  • Excellent project management and cross-functional team leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at any level.
  • Strong analytical, research, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to understand external systems and work with partner CM’s and key suppliers to drive ambitious implementation plans and schedules.
  • Ability to collaborate and partner with key stakeholders within the organization; Engineering/Product Development teams and CM management.
  • Ability to learn and grow into overall strategic sourcing management role.
  • BA/BS Degree; MBA preferred. Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management or Engineering is preferred.
