The Clean Fight is a not-for-profit business accelerator working to significantly speed the growth of the inclusive clean energy economy of New York State, and beyond. Our goal is to help fulfill the necessarily aggressive climate targets enacted by the City and State, by creating an ‘accelerator of excellence’ focused on scaling the best growth-stage climate tech companies from around the world. New Energy Nexus operates programs in the US, China, India, Southeast Asia, and East Africa.

 

About the Role

The program associate is responsible for supporting the program across multiple disciplines within the organization. This includes managing aspects of key projects such as applicant outreach, down-select, programming, reporting and communications. The person in this role will get to support and learn all aspects of the business, as an integral member of our small and nimble team, helping to build the accelerator from its infancy.

The Program Associate reports to the Director of Strategy and Marketing, and will work closely with the Director of Partnerships and The Program Manager.

We compensate competitively and offer medical, dental, and vision benefits. This position is based in New York. Unfortunately, relocation assistance is not available.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an individual whose passion is to be an integral part of defining and building a world-class climate tech accelerator. Someone with experience in project management and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments at a time. They would thrive in an early-stage environment by being a fast learner, tech-savvy, self-motivated, solution-oriented, and resourceful. This is the perfect role for someone who is excited to get broad exposure to how a climate tech accelerator is built and run, by supporting all disciplines within the business.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and executing accelerator programming such as summits, events, panels etc
  • Manage accelerator systems such as CRM, application and grants system, and content management systems eg airtable, typeform
  • Build and manage social media channels and outreach programs
  • Manage direct outreach to potential applicants and ecosystem organizations during the application process
  • Help coordinate evaluation process and down-select of cohort
  • Help manage communications to program participants – cohort companies, speakers, influencers etc
  • Help with administrative and facilities management to ensure the smooth running of the organization 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years experience working as a project manager or similar role
  • Experience and confidence with spreadsheets & project management systems eg Asana
  • Excellent communication skills; interpersonal, verbal and written
  • Ability to identify and track relevant KPIs
  • Hands on experience with social media management
  • Ideally experience in the clean energy, environment or sustainable business world
  • Execution-focused with a sense of urgency, solutions oriented and resourcefulness in a lean, all-hands-on-deck work environment
