The Opportunity

At Opus One this means the modernization of the electrical grid and the shift to a carbon neutral world. You will work at the forefront of electrical grid modernization helping build the future platform for Distribution Systems Operators
  • You will be a part of the Distributed Energy Resource Management (DERMS) product management team building the software that connects, schedules, monitors, aggregates an manages the operations of all types of distributed energy resources assets, from smart meters to photovoltaics to intelligent battery storage and wind generation.
  • Building on our key technology investments in power flow optimization and dynamic transactive markets, you will work with some of the most forward-looking electrical utilities in the world to understand how to improve the efficiency, enhance the reliability and accelerate the return on investment for DER based grid operations.

Who are you?

You are a product manager with power systems and DER management experience within the electrical utility space or an adjacent industry where you have exposure to large scale distributed computing and feel your skills can be applied. You have experience working at a utility or aggregator managing DER programs or you have a demonstrated track record in a software company

We expect you to be able to communicate your results with all stakeholders including technical and non- technical audiences, to work closely with engineering, design and delivery.

What will our new Product Manager work on?

  • Research to understand the market, buyer and user (their needs, alternatives and buying process) in relation to the
  • Understand distributed energy resource management, ecosystem, markets, competition and user requirements in depth.
  • Launch new products and features, test their performance and iterate quickly.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, marketing, professional services and UX teams to deliver products to market and ensure successful customer delivery.
  • Leading internal teams to proactively gather relevant customer needs from internal and external stakeholders, with clear focus on customer centricity and UX
  • Leading agile teams of R&D, sales, and operational teams in defining the right product offering for our target markets
  • Solve problems in robust and creative ways demonstrating solid verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Be comfortable communicating externally with subject matter experts, partners, and customers.
  • Collaborate across multiple development, project delivery teams along with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

Here’s what you bring:

  • BS or MS degree in computer science, engineering or a related field or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in product management a proven track record to launch new products to the market.
  • Experience developing and launching products and technologies within cloud, SaaS, enterprise or as internal tools.
  • Experience in creating strategic product roadmap(s) from conception to launch.
  • Experience in leading the product vision, go-to-market strategy and design discussions across all stakeholders including technical and non-technical audiences, to work closely with engineering, design and delivery
  • Strong electricity industry knowledge; experience at a utility, aggregator, electric vehicle or battery storage vendor. May include exposure to IoT or SCADA systems.
  • Strong data-driven approach in decision making comfortable using KPIs and metrics
