Job Description

Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) is the surest path to limitless, clean fusion energy. Our mission is to enable world-wide clean energy for everyone, creating a sustainable environment for current and future generations. We have created a credible path to an operating fusion power plant in 15 years which leverages our novel collaboration with MIT and funding from strategic and financial investors who share our vision. This begins by developing a new class of high-field superconducting magnets that will enable the SPARC tokamak to demonstrate net energy from fusion for the first time. To execute this plan, we are now looking to add talented people to the team who are mission-driven and treat people well, improve our team by adding diverse perspectives and new ways of solving problems, have demonstrated exceptional results through a range of different pursuits, and have skillsets and experience that relate to this role.
The Learning & Development Business Partner will collaborate with the HR team and leadership to develop and facilitate impactful training that will benefit all levels of the organization. They will be embedded in every department across the company and will be instrumental in creating high performing teams.

This team member will:

  • Assess the training needs of the organization
  • Facilitate discussions with our employees and leaders on the types of trainings they are interested in
  • Collaborate with leadership and HR to strategically plan the approach based on the assessment, poll, and data
  • Design and develop curriculums for our employees, managers, and leadership
  • Work closely with the HR team and other stakeholders to build course content
  • Facilitate high level and meaningful trainings
  • Engage participants through interactive discussion and group exercises
  • Report out data and trends
  • Maintain training records that will provide insightful data
  • Keep up to date on changes within the industry and trends
  • Ensure curriculum is closely tied to the company’s culture, values, and mission
  • Continuously look for opportunities to improve trainings and modify curriculums based on feedback, data, and industry trends
  • Occasional travel to the California office required

The ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of these requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Psychology, or other related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in an education and training environment
  • Track record of coaching technical and non-technical leaders at all levels to develop high performing teams
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and influence behavioral change and skill development
  • Delivers engaging presentations and connects with the audience
  • Understanding of group dynamics and adult learning principles
  • Data driven and impact focused mindset
  • Passion for learning and continuous improvement
  • Ability to deliver high quality training content both in person and via Zoom
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Zoom and Google suite
  • Eagerness and enthusiasm to help others
  • Ability to provide professional and constructive feedback
  • Clear communicator that can quickly establish rapport and empower employees and learners
