POSITION SUMMARY
Hannon Armstrong is currently seeking an Analyst or Associate with financial modeling experience to join our team.  This individual will work with the Credit Investment Team in supporting transaction closings and growing HASI’s sustainable investment portfolio. The transactions will be focused on the energy efficiency market with federal, MUSH, and commercial obligors. The core responsibilities of the role will include supporting transaction execution by building and managing financial models, completing investment analysis and due diligence, reconciling financial documentation, and assisting with business development activities. This position is based in Annapolis, MD.

RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Assist with developing, auditing, and improving financial models
  • Support the deal teams on due diligence, evaluation, execution, and closing for debt investments and placement of ESCO (Energy Service Company) transactions
  • Work closely with internal cross-functional execution team (Investment Group, capital markets, accounting, and operations) to ensure smooth execution and onboarding for new transactions
  • Manage ESCO client requests related to existing projects
  • Work closely with the members of the portfolio management and securitization operations teams to provide specific investment expertise to assist in client requests and commercial decision making relating to portfolio assets

SPECIFIC RECOMMENDED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • MS Excel financial modeling skills
  • Relevant industry experience in energy efficiency, government contracting, banking, and/or private placements
  • Demonstrated interest in sustainable investing
  • Strong attention to detail, team-oriented, collaborative
  • Excellent communication skills (including writing, speaking, and listening)
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, innovative, and entrepreneurial environment

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year institution
