About the Job
What you'll do
As an early Data Engineer hire you'll be a key part in defining the data engineering culture at Nira. This includes setting up best practices, infrastructure and tools to ensure our pipelines are robust while maximizing velocity.
You will be building new data pipelines in new products Nira is expanding to. We're launching a bunch of greenfield work in the upcoming months so you'll have a ton of ownership. On any given day, you'll be working closely with product managers, transmission engineers and full-stack engineers.
You will be the sole technical owner of building new pipelines. You'll be paired with a Transmission Engineer on our team who understands how to run electrical analyses on the grid.

Excited about working in climate tech!
Excited to work with Transmission Engineers and learn about how our electrical grid works.
Operate well in ambiguity and can easily pick up new technologies.
Excited about taking ownership over large pieces of work.
Capable of rolling with the punches. Plans change when working at a rapidly growing startup.
About the Company

Nira Energy
Nira's mission is to help convert the US power grid to be 100% fossil-free.
We are profitable!
Nira is a software platform that helps renewable energy developers find the cheapest points on the grid to connect.
We focus on estimating the cost to interconnect with the electrical grid (aka the Interconnection Process). Depending on where developers connect, they may be on the hook to pay millions of dollars to upgrade power lines, substations etc.
