POSITION SUMMARY

Inspire is on a mission to transform the way consumers access clean energy and accelerate the world’s transition to a net-zero carbon future. We’re building products that empower customers to reduce their carbon footprint and by doing so, are creating a clean energy movement that everyone can be a part of.

We are seeking an experienced product manager to help build best in class automation and tooling as the company continues to scale into additional markets over the coming years. 

This role would be part of Inspire’s Energy Platform Product team which provides the foundational technology that allows us to pursue our mission by ensuring that everyone who wants clean energy for their home can get it seamlessly. From designing and building tools that allow us to expand into new markets faster to operationalizing data that enables us to price a personalized energy subscription offer, this team ensures that we are able to continuously optimize and scale our core business offerings and processes. 

The product manager will lead on a suite of customer acquisition-enabling products and work collaboratively with a cross-functional team to execute on Inspire’s market expansion roadmap. They’ll be responsible for translating company objectives into value-rich problems to solve in coordination with internal stakeholders while also executing on product discovery and delivery with design, engineering, and analytics partners.

THE PRODUCT MANAGER, ACQUISITION HAS 5 MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develop the product vision, strategy, and roadmap that enables Inspire to best leverage its acquisition capabilities to acquire and retain members in collaboration with cross-functional peers.
  2. Partner closely with Sales and Marketing stakeholders to understand their objectives, pains, and ideas in order to effectively prioritize their needs while solving problems.
  3. Become an authority on your product area, identifying user needs and business opportunities through a combination of research, feedback collection from cross-functional teammates, and data analysis.
  4. Own features end-to-end, including leading product discovery, writing product specs, driving cross-functional execution, making thoughtful product decisions along the way, and sharing insights and outcomes throughout the company.
  5. Drive execution against our broader roadmap in collaboration with Engineering and Design peers, making tradeoffs, anticipating staffing needs and risks, and ensuring frequent and clear communication.

SOME YEAR 1 DELIVERABLES

  • Develop and deliver the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for your area of ownership in partnership with the Director of Product.
  • Enable and optimize the ability to enroll customers on multiple energy products throughout our sales technology stack.
  • Develop a sales partner and agent product experience that strengthens and enhances their partnership with Inspire, motivating a deep sense of impact and purpose in our mission.
  • Design and test new product and plan offerings that expand our market size and provide additional value for customers while working for the business.

  • Feature Adoption & Engagement: Are people using the feature and how often? Is it delivering value? Did you build the right thing?
  • Execution and Delivery: Are you able to drive decision-making and execution all the way through product delivery?
  • Outcome Measurement: Can you define the proper metrics to track that impact the outcomes we’re seeking? Can you clearly tie outcomes to objectives?
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Are you a collaborative partner? Do people trust your decisions and can you effectively represent the voices of those not in the room?

EXPERIENCE

  • Must Have
    • Minimum of 4 years experience leading product initiatives across user-facing products
    • Demonstrated ability to take rough themes and turn them into a roadmap of features, experiments, or discovery objectives with minimal guidance
    • Demonstrated track record of product execution with the ability to lead and influence teams
    • Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis to inform prioritization and decisions
    • Demonstrated ability to figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, and to lay out your argument in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative and documentation
  • Nice to Have
    • Experience in the retail energy industry
    • Experience managing and shipping B2B products
    • Experience managing and shipping internal tools
    • Experience with UX design and creating mockups and prototypes of various fidelity
    • Experience in a Sales Operations role or similar
    • Experience working in a high-growth scaling product management organization
