The Purpose of this position:The Accounting Manager role is crucial to the financial health and success of Jupiter Intelligence as it is responsible for all of our financial processes. As our Accounting Manager, you will work closely with our business teams to provide top-notch guidance and expertise in order to maintain efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function. You will manage and perform general accounting functions such as preparing financial reports and analysis, providing audit support, budgeting and forecasting all financial activities of the business. Our ideal candidate will be able to provide transparency on the overall performance of the company and utilize their knowledge to continually implement measures for improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible  accounting operational functions including billing, A/R, A/P, and overall GL
  • Act as subject matter expert in all areas related to the general ledger
  • Strong understanding of (US GAAP)revenue recognition including extensive experience in the application of ASC 606 and working knowledge of all other current authoritative literature related to revenue recognition
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Manage all aspects of the month-end close process. Review journal entries and account reconciliations and perform fluctuation analyses.
  • Drive efficiencies and improvements. 
  • Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements
  • Work collaboratively across teams, providing actionable insights to help drive optimal business decisions
  • Designing & implementing internal controls commensurate with the changing scale of the business.
  • Perform special projects or other duties as requested

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with concentration in Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or working toward CPA preferred - 2 of 4 parts ideal
  • 5+ years of overall accounting experience, with at least 2 years public accounting experience preferred
  • 2-3 years of management experience
  • Startup experience preferred, ideally in a software, SaaS environment
  • System implementation experience preferredExcellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident, energetic, team player who demonstrates good judgment and influences outcomes globally
  • Hardworking, detailed-oriented and demonstrates both a strong sense of ownership and good business sense
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
