Aspiration is looking for a Data Scientist to help design and develop machine learning models to drive our business forward. This role will play a pivotal role in implementing machine learning models across our products as well as, running high business impacting analytics that will help us provide the best possible experience for our customers.We are looking for smart and highly motivated individuals of our Data Engineering team to contribute towards the success of Aspiration goals - to bring fair financial products to masses. This is a hands-on technical role and will be responsible for building scalable solutions as it relates to data architecture strategies, data standards, and data integration tools.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with cross platform engineers and developers to create new financial software solutions. 
  • Assess data needs using structured requirements process (gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes) to assist in identifying business priorities and to advise on the options. 
  • Make business decision, invest in product category, work with a vendor, identify risks. 
  • Business Requirement Data Acquisition Data Preparation Hypothesis & Model Evaluation & Interpretation Deployment Operations Optimization. 
  • Identify all Stakeholders and their role in project and permissions or credentials to access the data necessary for analysis. Oversee the completion of daily projects within the data system engineering team.
  • Extensive interaction and collaboration with cross functional teams for stabilizing the applications with minimum impact. 
  • Feasibility and Impact Analysis on integration points of Cross Functional changes and boundary systems. 
  • Establish and maintain communication process with the team. Support and Monitor Post Release Activities for Normalization as per the project plan. Implementing the 24/7 on call support with the help of offshore team and scheduling the rotation basis for the production support. Develop new data systems to enhance client user experience. 
  • Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis, after creating the document have it reviewed by Business owners for their feedback. 
  • Implement the cost cut model by overseeing the unused licenses and converting the Data Pipelines to Matillion/Opensource Technologies like Python. 
  • Update the document based on feedback and make the final version after approval. 
  • Prepare and develop Business Use cases. Setting Tableau server/Looker Servers in Linux in AWS and training users to create data visualizations using tableau desktop. 
  • Hiring the talented resources to the Data platform and BI platform to deliver the tableau visualizations/Looker Visualizations across the company
  • Create technical system summaries of market performance for staff and client. 
  • Participate in setting engagement objectives and scope, develop work plans for components of engagements, coordinate activities between work streams and identify changes in scope. 
  • Identify key business and technology capabilities delivered as a part of the implementation roadmap, and develop a release plan based that is in-line with the program strategic objectives. 
  • Convert AWS On demand instances to spot instances and reduce the cost of the AWS usage billing. 
  • Collect financial system data to identify data markers to improve client performance; and Synthesize overall operations strategy by analyzing a wide variety of business solutions; select the most relevant tools/techniques to meet specific client requirements such as business case, pricing, or complex financial analysis and interpreting and reporting on outputs. 
  • Perform personnel management tasks including performance reviews, compliance with company policies, mentoring, and career growth planning. 
  • Build the end to end solutions in talking to Business stake holders and gathering requirements and automate reporting and built visualizations in Tableau that meet stakeholder’s existing data needs, provide deep analysis and insight than manual reports, and increase productivity by 40% using the BI tools.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Electronic Engineering, Engineering or a related field
  •  Five (5) years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience as a: Manager Data Engineering, Sr. BI Architect/Manager of Data/Business Intelligence, Software Engineer, System Analytics or directly related.
  • Experience in understanding the Data Engineering tasks and lead a team of Data Engineers who can build the ETL pipelines for the corporate KPI Dashboards. 
  • Experience in working with various business stake holders and project and product managers and set the priorities for the Data Engineering team to deliver them in an Agile methodology
  • Experience creating reports using OBI EE 10.1.3.4.1
  • Experience with utilizing Oracle 11g and 10g, Warehouse Builder, Script, CSS, and XML
  • Experience with deployed Oracle 9i RPD and Webcat from local machines to Cisco Unix 
  • Experience developing  Oracle Business Intelligence ("OBI") applications
