Job Description

The Role

Motiv is looking for a Electrical Engineering Manager to join our team and ‘lead from behind’ to maintain a culture of innovation and accountability in a high growth environment. The EE Manager will manage development projects and engineers and report on progress. As a direct contributor, the EE Manager will participate in power electronics design and review. She/He will also be responsible for developing development, configuration and release processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage electrical engineering development projects and be responsible for on-time delivery of electrical engineering tasks
  • Manage the EE team and help keep team motivation and growth high
  • Foster a culture of performance, accountability and learning in the team
  • Be a technical lead for the team when required
  • Work with the project manager to provide estimates
  • Be responsible for the quality of electrical engineering team deliverables
  • Lead/manage design and documentation of printed circuit boards
  • Participate in and lead design reviews with the engineering team
  • Coordinate with product and project management and contribute to product road maps
  • Ensure Motiv products meet EMI/EMC automotive standards

Required Experience and Skills

  • BS EE, Master's preferred, and 7+ years of relevant experience
  • At least 3 years of experience working on new power electronics developments
  • Experience with managing a team of engineers or experience as a technical lead
  • Excellent understanding of electrical engineering processes
  • Can clearly explain complex technical concepts/issues to engineers and non-engineers
  • Experience designing for rugged industrial or automotive environments
  • Experience with high-power electronics
