Job Description

The Director of QA will be responsible for all QA at StreetLight Data, including our flagship InSight® application, and data processing.  This position reports to the VP of Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure high quality for the InSight(R) web application, as well as for incoming raw data and our processed analytics.
  • Lead the current QA team, and hire new team members as per the hiring plan.
  • Provide mentorship to senior and junior team members, and evolve QA processes as the team grows.
  • Plan and deliver monthly releases on time, jointly with Engineering and Product Management.
  • Collaborate with Support and Operations teams on customer cases and deployments as necessary.
  • Create, maintain and implement a strategy for QA automation for the web application, raw data, and processed analytics.
  • Contribute to QA tasks in a hands-on role.

Skills & Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science / Mathematics / Engineering field from a top-tier university.
  • 10+ years of experience in QA at a software company, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong leadership skills, with ability to see the big picture, set standards, and create / execute plans.
  • Strong sense for software quality, good understanding of QA processes, and proven delivery of quality releases in an agile environment.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills (especially with Engineering, Operations, Support and Product Management).
  • Good understanding of QA automation tools (Selenium, Protractor, scripts) for Web-based as well data (RDBMS) products.
  • Experience with big data, geospatial data and GIS tools is a plus.
