Job Summary

Seeking Technical Specialist I, II, or III to contribute to a growing team of Climate and Carbon Footprint Services. Essential job functions include supporting the delivery of Carbon Footprint services for Scope 1, 2, and 3 of organizational and Product-based GHG inventories reporting under a variety of GHG schemes. Strong analytical, technical writing, time management, and communication skills are requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Technical Services

  • Conduct data analysis and modeling
  • Interpret results of analysis and prepare written reports
  • Conduct GHG verification
  • Participate in development and implementation of technical standards relevant to this position
  • Serve as lead verifier for organization level GHG verification audits performing required steps including:
    • Conducting kickoff meetings
    • Development of risk assessment and verification plan
    • Performing required data checks for inventory data and data management systems
    • Documentation, communication, and closure of audit findings
    • Development of verification report and verification statement
  • Complete audits by adhering to the agreed timeline, reporting deliverables, and professional requirements.
  • Communicate in a timely and professional manner with Program Manager, other SCS staff, and client contacts
  • Deliver verification services in accordance with SCS Corporate and Program Quality requirements, in addition to participation in periodic internal and external accreditation audits.
  • Support the SCS quality management system through maintenance of competency records including training log, completed calibration activities, and up to date knowledge of SCS program and external scheme requirements
  • Ability to travel for periodic site visits, including a valid driver’s license and driving record in good standing required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering related discipline;
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in GHG verification and/or GHG inventory preparation;
  • Professional experience within at least one of the following disciplines: Accounting, Data Analytics, Energy Management, Power Generation, Manufacturing, Quality Management Systems
  • Excellent technical writing and/or editing skills; detail-oriented personality.
  • Ability to complete complex and time-sensitive projects on agreed timeline;
  • High proficiency in Microsoft office, especially data analysis in Excel
  • Multi-language proficiency (e.g. English and Spanish) preferred

Work Environment and Requirements

  • Office work both onsite (facility walk-throughs) at clients and remotely (home office)

Physical Requirements

  • This is primarily an office-based job. Sit 6+ hours per day. Keyboarding 6+ hours per day. Must be able to speak and listen in person and on the phone.

Pay Range:

$60k to $85k Annually
