Job Description

Electric Hydrogen’s mission is to make molecules to decarbonize our world! Our outstanding people are our most important asset and will allow us to deliver hydrogen from renewable electrolysis for heavy industry, at prices below fossil fuels. 

You will work with the test engineering team to develop and iterate Balance-of-Plant modules to support a fast evolving R&D electrolysis cell. You will be very hands-on, often building and debugging equipment as we bring it up in one of our facilities. You are a team player excited to build a new generation of electrolysis equipment.

You will be based in our office in San Carlos. CA, and report to our Test Infrastructure Lead.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop novel equipment and machines to support rapid R&D of electrolysis stacks
  • Be very hands-on and mechanically inclined for build and debug of electromechanical systems
  • Design P&ID's and process diagrams for fluid systems
  • Manage bill of materials and design documentation
  • Source specific components including mechanical hardware, fluid hardware and electrical components
  • Create custom drawings and system specifications
  • Work with suppliers to manage part quality and delivery timing
  • Manage system level installations of large piping systems for prototype electrolysis plants
  • Develop and perform component and system level testing

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BSME or similar
  • 5+ years mechanical engineering/design
  • Experience with piping design to known specifications (CGA, ANSI)
  • 2D/3D CAD (e.g. SolidWorks), combined with stress, thermal, fluids analysis
  • Experience with all common fluid connections and pressurized systems
  • Hands-on experience is necessary
  • Fluid and electrical system experience
  • Experience in renewable energy, climate tech, or chemical industries

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

[San Carlos Zone] Mechanical Engineer (P3): $119,000 - $159,000 per year

$119,000$159,000 USD

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.​
