SUMMARY

Nexamp is seeking an experienced Manager of Accounting to join its Boston office and report to the Director of Project Accounting.  Nexamp manages approximately $1.5 billion of solar and storage assets that are operating or under construction and is quickly expanding this figure. This position will be responsible for month, quarter, and year end closes and financial reporting as well as other ad-hoc projects relating to accounting, analyzing and reporting for new business operations and scaling and improving current processes for existing operations. This individual will have the opportunity for future growth and development amongst a group of high achieving and fun professionals. We are seeking a driven, dedicated, and enthusiastic professional to join our dynamic team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the execution and performance of accounting and finance activities, including, but not limited to:

  • Drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual close of the subsidiary companies, which includes (but is not limited to) approving journal entries, maintaining monthly reconciliations, preparing financials (balance sheet, P&L, equity statement and cash flow statement), and performing quarterly and annual covenant calculations
  • Manage a team of staff and senior accountants including hiring, onboarding, cross-training, overseeing day to day activities, and evaluating performances
  • Understand debt and operating agreements to drive distribution calculations, principal sweep payments, and other financial reporting requirements in place at partnership levels
  • Provide support to and interact with project level investors and lenders
  • Coordinate with other business units, including monitoring, operations and maintenance, customer experience, finance and capital markets teams on various project level matters
  • Assist in creating annual budgets and maintain budget-to-actuals for all projects on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Lead projects for ERP improvements working with third party consultants and other departments to scale processes and making them more efficient
  • Oversee weekly check run and bank reconciliation processes
  • Design and implement processes for new business operations taking into consideration the relevant accounting principles and guidance
  • Work with audit seniors, manager, and partner for project and consolidated audits by completing PBC lists, providing explanations and supporting documentation for audit testing throughout the G/L, and assisting with preparation of the financials and footnotes
  • Prepare ad hoc reports for management – including various department requests

QUALIFICATIONS

Ideal candidate must be organized, self-motivated, results-oriented, and operate well in a collaborative, team environment.  The ideal candidate should be prepared for increased responsibilities as they relate to the role and in a fast pace, rapidly growing company.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3-4 years of Public Accounting and 1-2 private experience preferred
  • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and the ability to do research to find solutions for accounting issues
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the accounting team, executive management and all departments across the organization
  • Experience with accounting systems; NetSuite strongly preferred
  • Strict attention to detail, ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Ability to think critically, be proactive, and problem solve
  • Strong Microsoft Office and overall computer skills
