Job Description

Electric Hydrogen’s mission is to make molecules to decarbonize our world! Our outstanding people are our most important asset and will allow us to deliver hydrogen from renewable electrolysis for heavy industry, at prices below fossil fuels. 

We are looking for a Firmware Manager to grow and lead a team to develop and deliver switch-mode power supply software. Your team will be responsible for the full vertical stack from low-level embedded firmware to implementing algorithms, from concept and prototyping to validating and shipping code in production. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team including modeling, control, and power electronics engineers, and more. You will lead your team to develop advanced simulation and regression testing capabilities, as well as the right tooling to deliver high-quality and required software updates.

You will report to our Vice President, Power Systems.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a firmware/software team to develop, validate, and ship product-critical firmware
  • Hire, train, mentor, and manage a team of highly skilled development and validation engineers
  • Manage team development schedules and resources
  • Support design reviews and DFMEA activities
  • Lead your team to build advanced simulation and validation capabilities
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to define and develop internally and externally requested features
  • Develop and debug low-level real-time and low-latency firmware in C
  • Board bring-up, debug, test, and code optimization
  • Implement control algorithms for power electronics products
  • Design and implement protocols for system communications of new products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, mechanical, controls)
  • Write software specifications and design documents
  • Generate and maintain accurate project schedules and timelines

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering/Computer Science, or the equivalent
  • 5+ years of professional firmware/software development for power electronics experience
  • People and task management experience and competency
  • Experience seeing a project through from conception to completion and delivering safety critical software is a plus
  • Experience with the embedded systems: compilers, debuggers, IDE's
  • Ability to Develop and debug low-level real-time and low-latency firmware in C
  • Ability for software integration and trouble shooting
  • Experience with communication protocols
  • Implement control algorithms for power electronics products
  • Experience with oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Manager, Firmware Engineering:

San Carlos Zone
$187,000$200,000 USD

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.​
