Your profile About the job Reducing energy waste in industry at our hundreds of customers all throughout Europe remains our focus, but now we want to go beyond electricity and gas. We are expanding our sensor portfolio with more sensors, both from suppliers and with our own designs, creating an easy and valuable integration with common factory environments. The next step is to start using our data insight for automatic feedback to the factory, and eventually machine control. At the same time, our company is growing quickly and maintaining, managing and scaling our existing IoT fleet and backend is an interesting challenge as well. We are looking for an engineer with broad experience to guide these projects from the initial research phase, through customer pilots towards a scalable 'hands off' solution. You will need to dip your toes into (wireless) sensor communication protocols, gateways, IoT-specific backends, installation UX, testing and monitoring. Main Responsibilities You'll join the team that is responsible for everything that happens between sensor and cloud. For specific projects, you will be part of multidisciplinary teams with product managers, developers and/or data scientists. Your tasks will be, among others:<ul><li>Improving the software on the embedded linux devices in factories</li><li>Working with developers to create data ingestion services for different sensor types</li><li>Working with operations to make our fulfillment, onboarding and installation support more efficient, and make sure they have the information they need</li><li>Improving monitoring, configuration and upgrading systems for our IoT devices to support the scaling of our fleet </li></ul>QualificationsMSc level education, preferably in a technical field, preferably specializing in embedded systems, industrial technology, or similar. For example: Computer Science, Distributed Systems, Industrial Engineering.Experience<ul><li>3y+ experience building software for connected devices, preferably with (industrial) IoT product</li><li>Experiene working with a big cloud provider and their services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure), and building cloud-based software</li><li>Experience with modern team software development practices: merge requests, code reviews, testing, CI/CD, dockerization</li><li>Experience with over-the-air upgrades</li><li>Experience in a product-driven company</li></ul>Skills required<ul><li>Proficiency in Python 3</li><li>Knowledge of embedded Linux (bash scripting, systemd, networking)</li><li>Knowledge about or willingness to learn about the tech we use: MQTT, Docker &amp; Kubernetes, RaspiOS, Gitlab</li><li>Good communication skills: working with technical experts as well as with people with other backgrounds</li><li>Fluent English for daily communication with colleagues</li></ul>What type of person Since this role touches many different parts of our stack, we are looking for a curious, fast learning and application-driven personality.
