About the business

We are an operationally complex and capital intensive business with excellent commercial traction, primarily overseas. Designing small-format electric vehicles (e-cargo bikes & comparable emerging vehicle formats), contract manufacturing around the world, running teams to manage lease and maintenance operations in major cities globally. Customers range from individuals, all the way through to mammoth enterprises. The business grew 6x last year and is forecast to grow 10x this year.

Description

Zoomo’s Supply Chain team runs the global delivery of bikes & parts to Zoomo regional operations, on-time and at cost. The team is the crucial enabler to Zoomo’s hypergrowth target deeply integrated with all functions across the business.

We are looking for a freight and logistics star able to run Zoomo’s international freight & logistics process, end-to-end, with a strong focus on DIFOT, on partnering with best-in-class providers, and a creative taste for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be Zoomo’s import/export global expert: freight, duties, tariffs & taxes, cargo optimisation
  • Build best in class freight & logistics processes supporting Zoomo's DIFOT target and future proof them.
  • Plan, book & track on-time delivery of vehicle & parts across the globe (ocean, air, overland of parcels and vehicles)
  • Seamlessly liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, courier companies & Zoomo's regional Logistics Team
  • Coordinate on-time custom clearance through documentation readiness and coordination with Zoomo Finance Team
  • Work closely with regional team to assure timely & cost-effective last mile deliveries.
  • Report and resolve cargo discrepancies at reception and/or raise quality issues.
  • Assess & review freight and logistics providers performance to assure Zoomo gets best in class service at all stages of growth.
  • Lead freight and logistics cost optimization activities

Requirements

  • Alignment with Zoomo's vision & purpose
  • Eagerness to join a fast paced company in hyper growth: build, scale/expand, obsolete, repeat
  • 2-4+ years of working experience in a logistics position directly exposed to import/export via sea, air, road & rail
  • Outstanding planning skills with a clear delineation of risk.
  • Strong understanding of duties, tariff, taxes in USA, UK/EU, Australia and cargo optimisation
  • A strong bias for using and articulating data to support decision
  • Strong interpersonal skills: Able to build and manage strong relationships within the Supply Chain team and across almost every function of the business, centrally and also with local market teams across the globe.centrally and also with local market teams across the globe.
  • Industry experience in electronics, automotive or FMCG is highly regarded
  • Speak multiple languages (Mandarin or European language) is definitely plus.
