Job Description

Tomorrow.io’s ARENA team is responsible for the development of unique RF and SONAR sensing systems, from architecture through implementation. The team is especially focused on developing subsystems in support of Tomorrow.io’s Operation Tomorrow Space, which will collect data to be integrated seamlessly into our existing forecasting and modeling systems, revolutionizing global weather intelligence.

We are looking for a T echnical Program Manager who will help us execute complex development programs and enable the most capable weather platform in the world.

As a Technical Program Manager within the ARENA team, you will play a critical role in the execution of a complex, multidisciplinary system development program. You will manage and coordinate tasks and priorities across multiple organizations and team members, shepherding development from the R&D stages through operational deployment.

What you'll do:

  • Program leadership. Drive day-to-day execution of the program.
  • Program management & program planning. Plan and coordinate the resources necessary to execute the program and projects
  • Establish and maintain regular business rhythm, action tracking, and consolidate information for effective decision making
  • Work with engineering leadership to identify and resolve technical issues
  • Maintain and routinely report performance on schedule, resources, cost, risks, and technical performance metrics.
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers

What you'll need:

  • B.S. in an engineering discipline
  • 5 years relevant experience in program management
  • Experience working with complex systems involving multi-disciplinary technical teams with coupled hardware and software development
  • Have delivered complex systems or subsystems previously in a leadership or management role
  • Expertise in schedule and program tracking tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills
  • Experience in vendor and contract management
  • Effectiveness working with stakeholders across the breadth of an organization

Desired:

  • 10 years program management experience
  • Experience specifically within a spacecraft development program or subsystem thereof
  • Experience in a startup environment
  • Experience scaling and growing teams
