Hannon Armstrong is seeking a Payroll and Equity Plan Administrator to join our team in Annapolis, MD. This role will be responsible for all aspects of our payroll and equity plan functions and will report to the Controller.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage processing monthly payroll in Ceridian for approximately 100 salaried employees and several hourly employees across multiple states
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding of employees and maintenance of data (salary, filing status, etc) for existing employees
  • Process periodic bonuses, share vestings and other adhoc items
  • Manage 401(k) plan administration
  • Ensure compliance with regulations related to payroll reporting and taxation
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll-related legislation and implement as necessary
  • Manage processing and record maintenance for grants, vestings, and forfeitures for restricted stock and similar awards in our third-party equity administration system, including managing employee tax withholdings
  • Provide data updates to and manage relationship with our external Transfer Agent
  • Reconcile month, quarter and year-end outstanding shares and maintain capitalization table
  • Provide documentation for 10-Q/10-K and proxy statement filings
  • Develop and support employee training efforts to improve understanding of equity plan
  • Act as main point of contact for employees on their questions related to payroll and equity plans
  • Coordinate with other members of the Accounting department as well as Finance, Legal and HR
  • Provide recommendations to further develop the payroll and stock administration function, including automating procedures
  • Contribute to the operating effectiveness of our compliance with a Sarbanes-Oxley (404) internal controls environment
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 10 years of experience in payroll and equity administration
  • Equity administration experience at a public company with 100+ employees
  • Experience using stock administration systems, preferably E-Trade
  • Experience using payroll systems, preferably Ceridian
  • Experience setting up new payroll tax jurisdictions
  • High level of discretion related to employee, payroll and equity information
  • In-depth understanding of equity administration concepts and related financial reporting principles
  • Familiar with SOX controls and compliance
