The People Ops Compensation & Benefits Administrator / HR Systems Manager coordinates and manages the employee compensation & benefits (including retirement plans) philosophy and programs, as well as managing therelated HRIS systems/integrations for maximum efficiency and user support.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises outside Health & Welfare/ Compensation benefit consultants, as well as directly manages systems related to implementation and ongoing support for the integrated systems.
  • Administers employee insurance programs including life, disability, dental and health insurance plans
  • Administers employee savings plans that may include the company’s 401(k) plan, personal savings plans, stock options, and deferred compensation programs.
  • Advises and informs employees of changes and developments related to benefits including eligibility, coverage, and provisions, based on the company’s total rewards strategy.
  • Researches and compares incentive compensation plans offered by demographically comparable organizations; assesses competitors’ plans and makes recommendations for enhancements or improvements required to keep the organization’s compensation plans competitive and effective, both internally and externally
  • Facilitates accurate and timely delivery of employer contributions and employee payroll deductions to carriers, plan administrators, or other appropriate service providers.  Handles any employee inquires related to benefit deductions and contributions.
  • Completes records, reporting, and other documentation required by federal, state, and provider rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Conducts employee surveys, census, and other research and demographic efforts required to collect accurate quotes from the appropriate benefit providers.
  • Identifies and selects carriers and plans based on quotes, available benefits, and prior experience, and based on recommendations and feedback from the Head of People.
  • Monitors administrators’ and insurance carriers’ reports to ensure the organization’s compliance with plan requirements, including leading all 401(K) meeting requirements and formalities.
  • Ensures the organization’s and plans’ compliance with the applicable provisions of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA.
  • Maintains knowledge of economic conditions, labor market, global variables, and other factors related to ensuring the organization provides competitive and reasonable benefits and compensation scales and structures.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in compensation and benefits administration.
  • Managers HRIS systems and integrations of benefit and retirement plans to ensure “best of class” service and ease of use for all stakeholders.
  • Manages any outside HR providers relationships, including the contractual relationship with a PEO (currently ADP TotalSource) if one is in place.
  • Present results of compensation and benefit analyses and recommendations to executive leadership on an ongoing basis. 
  • Support Company-wide performance management process by overseeing merit increases and compensation structure.
  • Ensure people data and systems scale to support business objectives and meeting growing organizational needs; leverage data to identify and implement improvements in business processes and employee experience. 
  • Present analysis, recommendations, and results to executive leadership on diversity, divisional headcount planning, and people program budgeting.   
  • Performs other HR, Benefit and HRIS -related duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of employee benefit plans, compensation programs and HRIS systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Thorough knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA requirements.
  • Proficient with Google Office Suite, and any provider related software.

Experience Needed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related required.
  • Five years of experience administering HRIS, compensation or benefits programs, as well as experience with system/program integrations.
  • Experience with Plan requirements and formalities, such as 401(K) committee meetings required.
  • HR-related and Project Management-related certifications preferred.
