Job Description

We are looking for a Director of Business Development to drive the growth of Tomorrow.io’s ARENA technology sales and development contracts.

The successful candidate will devise appropriate strategies to identify, qualify, and ensure contract wins through strategic, tactical, and hands-on ownership of all aspects of new business acquisition, capture management, and proposal development.

What is ARENA:

ARENA is our miniaturized, software-defined mixed-signal backbone for RADAR, SONAR, and radiometry applications.

What you'll do:

  • Identify, qualify, and capture a new business pipeline of opportunities focused on the ARENA product line and related services.
  • Determine the use cases and capability gaps that Tomorrow.io’s ARENA solution addresses.
  • Bring from opportunity identification to close, multi-year R&D, production, and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) contracts
  • Build and leverage strong relationships within the government, aerospace, and academic marketplaces.
  • Identify potential teaming partners and build integrated solutions for both prime and sub positions on government programs.
  • Research and understand the competitive environment at the agency, program, and prime levels.
  • Track the status of opportunities, and be responsible for updating the status of the entire pipeline.
  • Closely collaborate with cross-functional technical and business colleagues to qualify and respond to RFIs/RFPs.
  • Understand and present the ARENA value proposition to potential customers and key government stakeholders.

What it takes:

  • BA/BS degree
  • 10+ years of business development experience , at least 5 of which is in a field of applied technology in the government/aerospace community.
  • Success driving new closed deals with total contract values greater than $5M.
  • Advanced knowledge of how the Federal technology marketplace works.
  • A demonstrated track record of building a successful qualified government deal pipeline and transitioning to capture.
  • Proven capability to build relationships and grow accounts with aerospace primes and 1st-tier subcontractors.
  • Experience evaluating and recommending key teammates and partners, along with determining a teaming strategy to optimize win probability
  • Some understanding of Federal fiscal year budgeting and acquisition processes
  • Strong analytical acumen.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Exceptionally strong presentation abilities.
