Job Brief
In this role, you will have an impact on Twelve’s mission to lead the way to a fossil free future through carbon transformation. You will be an integral part of Twelve’s development of CO2 conversion processes. This role includes collaborating with lab services team members to provide safe and effective laboratory facilities in support of our research teams. You will be providing hands-on support managing chemical supplies, compressed gas systems, and safety equipment as well as preventative maintenance of specialized lab equipment.
On-the-job training will be provided in areas specific to our equipment. This is an opportunity to learn laboratory maintenance and management as well as environmental health and safety, project management, and operations. As a key part of the lab services branch of facilities, your work will make an impact on the big picture every day. We are looking for a technician with lab experience who is excited about Twelve’s mission as well as this dynamic role within a fluid startup environment.
What you will do
- Regularly serve as primary responder to lab emergencies or safety concerns.
- Perform and track preventative maintenance, calibration, and inspection of lab equipment.
- Prepare chemical solutions for research teams.
- Identify and implement improvements to inventory management and receiving.
- Help with tasks around the lab, such as organizing stockrooms, performing lab compliance audits, and certifying emergency equipment.
- Perform weekly maintenance on safety equipment.
- Handling and record keeping for hazardous waste.
- Monitor gas inventory, improve storage, and change out gas cylinders.
Who you are
- You have experience working in a lab environment (either in previous jobs or a class setting).
- You are experienced with chemical handling.
- You have strong computer skills (web apps, communication platforms, Google Docs etc.)
- You have experience working with compressed gasses and pressurized fluids.
- You have a strong desire and curiosity to learn new things.
- You are able to lift up to 50 pounds.
