Where in the world of Kaluza will I be working? 

You'll be joining the Kaluza Technology community. We’re a large team of both data-led and product focused Software and Production Engineers, pushing the boundaries of technology and working at an extraordinary scale. As a collective we strive for engineering greatness and by ensuring best practices across the board of the community.

As Enterprise architect you will be working across all of our technology landscape which includes Energy Retail and Flex

Kaluza’s Energy Retail platform: This is a SaaS technology platform that aims to revolutionise the operating platforms for energy retailers globally. This platform has been built with scale and technical quality in mind and is the foundation for decarbonisation efforts by Kaluza’s customers. 

Kaluza’s Flex platform: Designed to be the nervous system connecting energy retailers, grid operators, and consumers, Flex will aid us in creating the distributed, consumer-centric, dynamic energy system of the future. Bridging the gap between distributed renewable generation and smart devices, it helps consumers shift their energy consumption to times when there's more renewable energy. This not only saves them money, but enables society as a whole to meet the challenge of decarbonising transport and residential heating/cooling. We’re also supporting this vital shift by building the innovative technology behind unique, market-leading customer propositions like Vehicle to Grid and Drive Anytime Energy Plan with our energy retailer partners.

What will I be doing?

As a senior leader in the Technology department you will be responsible for collaborating across all levels to ensure we build robust, enterprise class software. You will be equally happy working with colleagues or clients to design and deliver our next generation products to help the world move to a carbon neutral future.

You will lead a small team of architects (which you will build) but have a remit across the department. You will have experience of all aspects of enterprise development and have a passion for global systems and their design

As an inspirational leader you will have the experience to be able to see the pros and cons with topics such as: 

• Cloud availability and the provider landscape
• DDD and design methodologies
• Integration with COTS - where are we best developing and where should we buy
• Data strategies at scale
• How clients can best integrate our solutions
• Tech radars and standards which help all of our teams go faster whilst being able to continually innovate and improve

Finally, you are passionate enough to come in and help shape this critical role to ensure we are all successful together

Is this the job for me?

Ideally you’ll have/be

• Happy to make decisions and bring others with you
• Have a track record in delivery at scale
• Use data to make decisions
• Be confident to speak to our large community of >300 software professionals
• Have views around design and delivery methodologies
• Know what you don’t know and hire accordingly
• The EA role will manage network and security architecture as well as techncial architecture - you will create the right team to fill your gaps 
• AWS / GCP or similar experience
• Worked in an environment where the systems are critical, can have limited downtime and contractual SLAs
