Our innovative Flexiforming technology converts a wide range of feeds into high-quality drop-in renewable fuels (SAF, gasoline) and chemicals (e.g. BTX). Flexiforming builds on a strong foundation of its predecessor technology that was commercialized for upgrading fossil feeds unsuitable for traditional oil refining pathways. With the ability to transition from traditional fossil to renewable feeds, we empower operators to drive their energy transition at their own pace.</p>
<p>This is a challenging position at a critical junction of science and industrial commercialization. It requires complete dedication, significant creativity and high quality teamwork in a multicultural team: the company needs to set up a lab/demo facility from scratch, transfer catalyst manufacturing to a new factory in a new country, and ensure adequate IP protection.</p>

<h2>About the Role</h2>
<p>Process Engineering Intern function plays an important role at UFT in bridging the gap between scientific breakthroughs and real-world engineering solutions. You will be essential in transforming cutting-edge research into practical applications. With a focus on process modeling, certification, and lifecycle analysis, you will make a major contribution to the success of our Flexiforming technology. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact at the intersection of science and industrial commercialization. If successful during the internship, the role may convert into a permanent full-time engineering position.</p>
<h2>Responsibilities</h2>
<ul>
<li><strong>Engineering</strong>: support VP of Business Development in producing client-facing engineering documents, e.g. our Process Technology Package (PTP).</li>
<li><strong>Certification and Compliance</strong>: Support our work towards obtaining certifications for our Flexiforming pathways and products, starting with ethanol to jet fuel sustainable aviation fuel (ETJ SAF).</li>
<li><strong>Process Modeling and Analysis</strong>: Utilize your extensive knowledge of tools such as Aspen and GREET to conduct process modeling and lifecycle analysis.</li>
<li><strong>Collaborative Partnership</strong>: Work closely with the rest of the team to optimize the overall process design. Ensure that carbon intensity, economics, IP protection, and practical details are aligned for success.</li>

<h2>Qualifications</h2>
<ul>
<li>B. Sc. in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry, working towards a Master&rsquo;s or PhD.</li>
<li>Experience in process modeling.</li>
<li>Native or fluent English. Knowledge of Russian is an advantage, since it is the first language of some of the team members.</li>
