Join our team! SUMMARYNexamp is seeking a Manager, Design Engineering to perform engineering and project support tasks for commercial and utility scale photovoltaic systems and energy storage systems. Nexamp is leading the transformation to the new energy economy with proven solutions for solar energy development, ownership, and operation. Nexamp's ability to provide integrated, best-in-class solutions makes solar energy simple and profitable for our clients and partners.RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>Lead the Design Team’s efforts at a regional level </li><li>Manage a team of engineers within the design engineering department  </li><li>Provide technical support to Nexamp development, engineering, procurement, construction, and O&amp;M departments for the entire life cycle of a project including development, permitting, construction, and asset management phases  </li><li>Oversee, review, and approve drawings sets and energy models for development, permitting, construction, and record design phases for solar power plants utilizing AutoCAD, PVCase, Helioscope and PVSYST software </li><li>Develop and manage relationships with a network of vendors and engineering consultants for the entire life cycle of a project including development, permitting, construction, and asset management phases    </li><li>Perform value engineering to optimize project economic and technical profile  </li><li>Support Director, Design Engineering in training and mentoring of engineering department personnel, development of design standards and SOPs, and development of design drawing libraries </li><li>Drive new product research and implementation  </li><li>Determine innovative advancements to standard process </li><li>Support utility interconnection and permitting application processes  </li><li>Perform site visits for project assessment and feasibility  </li><li>Additional duties as assigned and/or directed </li></ul>QUALIFICATIONSThe ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, hands-on, results-oriented, and a team player.Key qualifications as follows:<ul><li>Degree in engineering or equivalent educational/certification background</li><li>4+ years of solar design engineering experience  </li><li>1+ years of management experience </li><li>AutoCAD &amp; PVSYST software proficiency  </li><li>EIT strongly preferred </li><li>PVCase software proficiency preferred  </li><li>Strong knowledge of industry standard design codes such as National Electric Code, International Building Code, International Fire Code and other standards relevant to the industry  </li><li>Strong knowledge of electrical principles  </li><li>Strong knowledge of medium voltage distribution and protection system principles  </li><li>Ability to manage a small team as well as work independently  </li><li>Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks  </li><li>NABCEP Solar certification required </li></ul>If you don’t meet 100% of the above qualifications, but see yourself contributing, please submit an application.  We encourage people from minority or marginalized groups to apply.At Nexamp, our mission is building the future of energy, so it is clean, simple, and accessible for all.
