About the Role

The Manager of Executive and Employee Communications will drive communications efforts that keep employees inspired and informed about the work they do by showing them how their work fits into Spin's mission and values. This will require partnership with Spin's CEO, Director of Global Communications, People Ops, Diversity & Inclusion and Chief of Staff to ensure the messaging alignment. This role is for a creative and flexible individual that is willing to take initiative, even in ambiguous environments. To be successful in this role, you will need to feel comfortable allocating time in the following way:

  • 25% Strategic view: Proactively identify how communications can help Spin achieve advance the long term health of the organization and propel the business forward.
  • 50% Rhythm of the Business: Execution of ongoing communication rhythm
  • 25% Unexpected: Space to manage rapid response/crisis comms and organizational change.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with and influence executives to develop and disseminate key messages to the company, including inspiring and aligning the team on Spin’s strategy, mission, and values
  • Develop and execute creative strategies for communicating to employees, taking into account the need to adjust messages to diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate with HR leaders to deliver internal communications that reflect the Diversity & Inclusion philosophy of the company.
  • Own the strategy and execution for keeping all relevant team members informed on important organization news and updates in a timely and engaging manner
  • Co-develop and implement Spin's communications plan internally to employees and externally to the public
  • Design and draft content in support of executive communication plans, including briefing documents, talking points, speeches, video scripts, long-form editorials, internal memos, social media, visuals and more.
  • Work collaboratively with the broader communications team to deliver the right message via the right channel at the right time in Spin’s voice
  • Design and produce corporate team all-hands materials by defining narrative, crafting the keynote presentations, and coaching presenters.
  • Support creating a lively culture at Spin that attracts and retains talent

Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience guiding strategy and execution in a communications role, preferably both experience in both internal and external roles
  • Deep interest in day-to-day mobility news and long-term trends which impact the experience of working at Spin
  • Experience tailoring communications to both full-time/hourly workforce
  • Experience interfacing, influencing and partnering with executive leadership and without fear of giving direct feedback
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills with the ability to develop internal communications to employees, as well as external communications for senior executives
  • Demonstrate superior problem-solving, decision-making and project management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team
  • B.A. in communications journalism, public relations, English, or a related field preferred but not required
